Acting Classes
BPPAS offers acting class and camps for children and adults. Our classes are taught by trained and experienced professionals who engage well with students on every level. Our theater program has introductory as well as advanced acting classes.
Theater Arts have been proven to enrich one's personable skills as well as their ability to do well in school subjects such as math, science, etc. In BPPAS theater classes we utilize the Stanaslaski and Chekov techniques for instruction and to enhance students skills. Our Classes, which are tailored for both beginning and advanced students, include Storytelling and Mask Making, Acting Out, and Creative Players Improv. Learn more about each of these classes below!

Storytelling Adventures, Ages 6 & 7 yrs.
Wednesdays 4:45 - 5:45 pm
Learn basic acting skills such as teamwork, active listening and problem-solving, while bringing stories of old and new to life. Students also develop skills in storytelling and character development. We recommend taking this class more than once!

Acting Out, Ages 12 - 14 yrs.
Monday's 5:30 - 6:30pm
Our Acting Out class introduces students to acting methods that are a bit more complex that Storytelling and Mask Making. Students learn theater and stage etiquette, as well at begin to practice two of the most prominent acting techniques used by every actor: The Magic "If" and Method Acting. They are then handed a script with which they get to practice mastering theses techniques, with their instructors guidance, of course. By the end of this course, students gain confidence, great stage presence, and skills that will aid them in auditions with both BPPAS and other theatrical institutions/ businesses.

Creative Players is perfect for both beginning and experienced teens looking to perfect their skills. Improv, short for improvisation, can be defined as a form of theatre in which each aspect (characters, plot, dialogue, etc.) are made up spontaneously. Actors who are capable of mastering improv are capable of concurring the theatrical world. This class begins by helping student master two of the most prominent acting techniques used by every actor: The Magic "If" and Method Acting. Then they use these techniques in a series of improv games. Teens who excel in this course will have an opportunity to join our future improv troupe, beginning in Spring 2020.

Our Musical Theatre classes are designed to develop comprehensive musical theatre skills including theatre dance, partnering, acting, character development and ensemble singing. This class will be a great opportunity for young actors to prepare for community theatre or school auditions. Musical Theater also helps students develop confidence and stage presence.

Adult Acting Classes
Saturday's 11:15 - 12:30pm
Acting is an art form that anyone can learn at any age. Take an hour and fifteen minutes on Saturday's to learn the fundamentals of acing while enjoying time with other individuals who want to explore acting as well.
